I will be in Kansas the first week of April and would like to do some crappie fishing. I will be in the north central and south central areas. Can anyone suggest some lakes to fish. I will have my rv and boat. Thanks for your help and I will post any results.

Hi Trotline, Well, I'd have to say the best place to catch crappie in Kansas would probably be at Kirwin Lake, which is located north of Stockton, and south of Phillipsburg, Ks. The lake has the highest black crappie population and the 17th highest white crappie population of all the lakes in Kansas. If you go to the Kansas Wildlife and Parks website, ( www.kdwpt.state.ks.us/ ) you can read the 2014 fishing forecast for all of the lakes in Kansas. I am going to try to get up there this weekend, and see if I can locate some of them through the ice. Looks likes this will be the last of the ice fishing season, it's supposed to be warm clear until March. I hope you have a good time this spring/summer and catch lots of Kansas crappie! Jordeli
