I've found myself drawn to kayak adds lately. It seems to be a great way to fish. I'm not lazy, but it just seems like it would be quick/easy to just unstrap (from car roof), throw it in the water and start fishing. (By the time I get to a lake, 15 minutes or so to get tube ready seems like an eternity!) I could also travel through the water quicker (to get to rising fish, avoid storms etc...). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any input (ways to convince the wife), or seriously, any downfalls. I'll rent one when the marina up here opens, to try it out. I'm thinking more for small ponds, and wakeless lakes.

I know they make rod holders for kayaks for trolling! If that helps.

That does actually. The one I'm looking at has 2 rod holders, and an extra insert for one of them for a fly rod. I didn't even think about trolling, but that would be sweet, to catch fish while paddaling.  8)   Thats one more thing I can add to the + side of one. Thanks epic.
