I hit up Lake Estes this afternoon and did very well on stocker rainbows as well as one larger brown. I fished off the dike adjacent to Hwy 36. Conditions were mostly sunny with winds out of the west at 10-20 mph. The wind seemed to help the fishing as the fish were more comfortable and aggressive. There were many fish cruising the shoreline and all of the fish were caught within 10 feet of the shore. All fish bit on 2" tubes in specled amber color. I had had to present the tubes as slow as I possibly could jigging them as if I was fishing for neutral walleye. It was a good day with twenty or so fish landed and an equal number of missed fish. Also, the fish were mostly mouthing the baits barely adding a little weight to the line... good practice for bassing.

Were you fishing on the small side of the lake? I drove past someone landing a fish there. You?
Oh, nice report.

I was fishing on the main body of water north of Hwy 36.
