I remember hearing a lot of info on this lake last lear, and I've never iced it. I've been icing a lot of the loveland/berthoud area lakes, but am wondering about Loveland this season and why I'm not hearing anything. Anyone been out or see people icing there?

The CPW fish survey hasn't been updated since 2011 but I heard its a decent perch lake among other things.

hey man, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm new here so I havent given a lot but have taken or asked a few times.

Loveland lake is one of my favorite places to fish in the summer. I have never landed a perch there, but I always have a good time catching small mouth, large mouth, and even a few crappie by the inlet area. That's north of the boat ramp fishing along the concrete rip rap. I have never ice fished it but I really want to try it soon. I know that this past fall the lake was really low! I'm not sure if that's because of irrigation or what, but if it's still that low right now, I just hope it didn't get low enough to have any winter kill or anything like that.
Go try it out and let us know!

Have you posted a report from all the lakes that you fished yet? I have noticed that you asked about certain lakes a few times but have yet to post a fishing report. Give and take dude.
I post all kinds of reports and always answer peoples questions if they ask. Not sure where you are getting this from? Because I asked earlier this year what the ice conditions were on Evergreen? Just trying to save a drive. I never ask people for fishing spots or tips.

I think someone needs to eat a snickers and go fish.

I'll probably do that! Its on my list of lakes to scout along with Boedecker and Lon Hagler this coming weekend. Will definitely post ice conditions.

Man, I am coming to like this Bradfish guy. He is one of us.;D

I'll be straight about Loveland cause it was a favorite lake of mine until the King bro's kinda whored out the best ice spot on the lake. It had a little bit of everything in it, we would catch, gills, crappies, largies, smallies and the occasional walleye thru the ice there. It has zero structure so you gotta move a lot, and IF you find some structure keep it to yourself. Or you will never be able to get on top of it again.

It was very low last year or the year before so I dont know what is left in there. I almost went there this December to check ice and see if anyone forgot about the spot, but I didnt.

if u are smart it is a very bad idea to talk about little ponds that hold fish on the web because the kill kill kill fish hunting jawas show up keep everything and turn it into a little fishless pond...

Thank you sir. That is the kind of information I was looking for. Not sure why it was a problem I asked...

I'll be in the Loveland area fishing Saturday AM if anyone wants to join. Not sure which lakes yet.

The age old question: "To talk or not to talk?"

loose lips sinks ships, & I'm sure that has happened to Loveland. Plenty of people do practice catch & release, except it doesn't take much to decimate a smaller body of water.

Haven't fished it in awhile, But in the Spring, find the weed lines for Walleyes, the rocks for Smallies. Used to ice for perch back by the fire station, got some pretty nice kitties too.

Cadence is unrelated to the king bros.

The spot was known by a few people. I lucked into finding it on my 3rd day of icing it. One day Gene(GMCO sunthin sunthin here) stopped out after we were all setup and respectfully asked if we minded him fishing and dropping his aqua vu down in the area, of which we welcomed him in. We were blown away by the amount of fish we saw down there. Mostly smallies but some crappie mixed in also.

I don't think it was ever their intention to blow it up, but a few pics with backgrounds were posted here and magically there was people on top of the spot like 5-6 deep, then next few times we went out.

Well guys I went to loveland today just to check on it and wow! That lake is most likely ruined now. It's so low that I can't imagine it won't have serious winter kill. I didn't go out on the ice because of how low it was and how un stable the ice looked. Such a shame to see a good lake like that get drained so low. I'm sure only the carp and a few pan fish will survive. Maybe those of us who fish that lake can write concerned emails to the DOW and get some answers. I hope they can re stock it and keep it full in years to come. Sad day for sure....

These were caught a Loveland a month ago- Perch was 13", 1.20 lbs. Only one we caught.Lots of craps on Biggies "spot". B4 the flood we caught 200 8-9" perch per day every day we fished it. Even non-fisherpeople caught their limits consistently. It was the same low level a month ago. We found 32 ft so it aint likely to winter kill. It'll be back!
