I'm from down in the Denver area, but for work I have been sent up the hill to the Basalt/Carbondale/Aspen area. I have done some research for lake/res fishing in the area, but have come up with very little helpful info (of course river and creek fly fishing is common place here)

Anyone have any recommendations for lake or pond fishing up in the RFV?
I would love to find a place within 15 mins of Basalt to hit before or after work.

I know of ruedi/chapman. (slightly far drive due to slow speeds)

Harvey and Rifle Gap (far but fishing has been decent)

Thanks for the help!

I fish out there about 3 times a year. I always have fun fishing at Harvey. In reality it's about the exact distance to Reudi from where I stay in Carbondale. I always want to fish Reudi but I never seem to be there the right time of year to do so. I hear it's quite the fishery.

Maybe too far, but I have seen an easily accessible lake or two right outside of Marble. Beaver Lake, or something close to that, is right on the edge of town as you drive through it. Never fished it, but reports are good.

Christine state wildlife area is right there in basalt. It can be good for stockers, and has green sunfish and goldfish as well.
