Went fishing in early afternoon on Friday.  Caught 3 decent bass and this
crappie using  a shad rap rapala with slow retrieve and pause, in  about
an hour and a half.  It's the same place where I caught a pretty good sized
trout last month.  I would give up the location, but I've been sworn to
secrecy.  The action isn't hot, but it's a good place to fish on the way home
from work.

Nice crappie. I don't think you need to apologize for not telling what the location is. Most of us have our "secret spots".

hi , why do you want keep secret ?
you post message for what ?
To tell you that the fishing was good, that you should be out fishing, and what they are biting on. If you use similiar techniques on bodies of water with the same fish in it you wilol probably catch fish.

Thanks, Ken. I heard about this lake from a friend of mine. It is really small
and can't take a lot of fishing pressure. I have no problem whatsoever on
a large body of water. I will tell you exactly where I fished and what I used.
If you look at my prior posts, I have done that. I posted that topic because
there are places just like that all over the metro area that i'm sure that you
could catch fish using the same technique or lure. Sorry if it makes anyone
upset.

NinerRick I know where that location is and I like that pond a lot. I have caught numerous bass out of there that were around the 4-5 lb range. Last time I caught a crappie there it was using a spinnerbait in that same exact location. Don't know what it is that holds them there so well but all the crappie I have caught seem to be good sized ones. Can't say that I have ever caught a trout out of there though. Nice fish, maybe I'll see you out there some time.

I'm with Ken and ePiC. No need to give locations. If they are hitting on one lake, chances are they are hitting on several. Nice post and keep them coming.

Hey roth. We have a mutual friend in Chris. I met him through work. I
let him in on a local pond where I live, and he let me know about this one.
Hope I see you on the water sometime.

NinerRick do you live in the Parker area? Chris showed me a pond out in that area last year. I have been trying to get him out on Aurora but he can't seem to get away for more than an hour or two. Anyways nice to see that the pond is fishing well. Let me know when you get some of the 4-5 lbers out of there. My best is 8 of them in a morning of fishing.

I'm sure that the lake that Chris showed you was the one I showed to him
and his brother. I think that all the fish are about the same size. I have
caught almost 30 in one day there, but nothing larger than the ones at
the other lake. Yes, I do live in Parker. There are a couple of other lakes
that I could take you to if you wanted to go. If you want to go to Aurora, I
have a 14ft. aluminum v-hull. It's hard to find people to go with. My son
is getting too busy to go. Just let me know,

Rick

Rick I get out on Aurora as much as possible. I normally go on my personal pontoon. I have been doing awesome lately with the walleye and a few smallies to boot. I don't know what stores you go to but I am at the C-470 and Kipling store. I work nights but if your around stop in and we'll talk fishing.
