I hit the same mountain reservoir last night that I went to last week. Got a handful of lakers and a couple browns. Mostly caught them on spoons. Everything from 1/4oz kastys to larger stuff like Sierra spoons that I like to use for Cuttys at pyramid lake. I’m gonna continue to laker fish every weekend until ice so hopefully I’ll come into intact with some bigger fish. I made a video that I’ll upload later.

Nice!

Just my .02, try some big hard baits (jerks, swimbaits, etc) to target the bigger fish. Sometimes you can catch them on that smaller stuff, but I find that you'll connect with big fish more often if you natural colored swim/jerk baits.

Spoons have never worked that well for me in CO for big lakers.

Yeah I tried big jerks, the bbz1, the s waver, an 8 inch Huddleston and a couple others. I’ve gotten a couple ok lakers...just not this season. I got my pb 32 inch laker on a Rapala extreme swimmer in the rainbow trout pattern.

Dakota, good tips.

Whomp. I may be cheap in doing it this way and it's an option of course that I probably wont partake in this but I would catch some 6 to 8 inch suckers and put them on a tube jig cast out about 25 feet and wait for a bite set the hook and have usually done well catching lakes between 25 to 30 inches. Last year I was catching some on the biggest kastmaster you can get tipped with some sucker skin.

This year I'm going to shoot for them with just a dynamic lure in rainbow and also a husky jerk in brown trout see how i fair!
