the lake elevation was 4854.79 and one week later it is 4856.59 for an increase of 1.8 feet in a week.
i went down to look at the lake yesterday, there is more ice now the north bay by the dam is all locked up now from the east end of sailboard to the south end of the concreate of the dam. the mouth of the n.marina has added about40 yards of ice. it will be a while before we will git a boat on in the normal places. i got a repoart of an idiot last week launched a big boat off of sailboard and was waterskiing, there have been some hand launched boats fishing near shiprock but i have not heard if they are catching anything.

i will try to git down and take a pic. of the lake at the end of this cold snap. i did step out on the ice at sailboard yesterday and it held me, it is not that thick, that i would trust it there, but i feel that the area of midway island has safe ice, dont take that as a fact. but anyone who has the guts to try it , that is where i would try. if anyone is going to try it let me know as i would like to git some pictures of it.

Thanks WS-we're supposed to get a warm-up next week and some wind. That should go a long way towards breaking the ice up.
