So this week's stocking report says that trout were recently put into Littleton Flood Plain Pond #2. I think it's a neat game to try to figure out where some of these obscure places are. A couple of weeks ago, the report mentioned the S. Platte near "Kassler". I can only imagine someone had a great time somewhere in Waterton Canyon.

Does anyone know where the Littleton Flood Plain Ponds are? I'll bet they are the South Platte Ponds that were made unnecessary when Chatfield was built, but I'm not sure.

It says in the history that they were used for flood control, so I think that you are right. Interestingly, it also says that the South Platte was channelized for flood control as part of the Chatfield project. I was looking at Google Earth and noticed that the South Platte around Belleview is chopped up. I guess this was for for flood control.
