honestly there wasnt any snow on the trail. it looked like they got a little bit recently judging just from some small remnants in the shady areas, but i was really surprised to see the gate closed. im sure the trail is clear all the way up. pretty bummed

do you know the status of the lake, or have you fished it recently before they locked the gate?

2nd gate opened mid July this year,.closes mid-October. Short season, lol. Had a couple good days floating it this year, great way to fish it, some nice macks and brookies c&r'd. Tough now to haul 40 # equipment a mile to the lake. What a great lake it would be to ice, but no getting around the gates with snowmobiles. Can you say helicopter? ;D
