LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

Fished Lonetree from 9 pm til about 2 am with only 3 fish caught. 2 undersized wipers and a sunfish. Used crayfish tails, blue gills and mussels. They seemed to like the mussels more. A couple of boats out and lots of shore fisherman on the opposite side of us. Fishing was SLOW!

Thanx for the report, bud! I've given up on Lonetree this year. I seem to keep missing the bite..... (excuses, excuses, excuses). K, nevermind that.. I'm just weak!
Re: LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

Yeah, Lonetree wasn't too good this year....maybe next year!
Re: LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

Boy, I wish someone would tell me where to get mussels.
Re: LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

I think you can get them @ King Soopers.

Re: LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

Thanks I will check there.
Re: LONETREE RESERVOIR 7-09-05

Yeah, King Soopers has them as well as Super Walmart. The ones at Super Walmart come with the shell still attached but they are a lot smaller. I like using these because they hook right on without having to cut them in half. Make sure you grab the right ones though. First time I bought those, I grabbed the white wine and garlic flavored ones!

Should have tried them garlic is an appetite stimulant for fish often used to get picky aquarium fish to start eating.

We did try them but the fish weren't hungry that day. The only thing we managed to catch were a couple of small channel cats.
