Hi, can anyone suggest a good shop to work on an Evinrude motor, its 25 hp and at least 25 years old. It does not need an overhaul but still needs more than just annual servicing. I need to have it adjusted for elevation to recover some of the power i lost going up 5000 feet in elevation.

I've heard a lot of good things about Crowley Marine. I'm pretty sure they are a Johnson dealer so they should be used to working on motors like yours.

What part of town are you located at? I found a guy that works out of his garage that fixes old motors on the side. He's about the only one I found that would touch my old 74 Johnson. He is up in Arvada. If it's of interest, I'm sure I have his number around here somewhere.

i have found that most dealer/repair shops wont touch the older stuff at all!You can find lots of info on the internet!

For 20+ years I've had all my mechanical work done at Great Lakes Marine (South Santa Fe at Highlands Ranch Parkway).  I've had an Evinrude, a Johnson and now a Yamaha).  I think they're terrific and their customer service is top notch.

I have used Great Lakes for about 20 years as well. If it can be fixed they can fix it. Real nice people.
