Im interested in making swimbaits. I watched a few videos online that got me interested. It looks like one of the easier and more common materials is plastisol. Does anyone here have experience doing this? I'd like to make big trout swimbaits initially so I could start out by buying a trout swimbait and then making a mold from it right? Could you just make the mold from playdoh or something similar? And then its as simple as heating the plastisol and pouring it and allowing it to cool right?

i also wouldnt mind trying something like this with wood- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di-ijGvutEw . Is there any reasonable way to do it without power tools? I would wanna make custom shapes and not use pre-made ones.

nevermind.i think i have it figured out. here are a bunch of good videos though.

Do a search for some of Swmbait's threads/posts or go out to bass pro and talk to him...he is incredibly gifted when it comes to lure making...

I am going to try my hand at bait making.

Hard bait joints are the thing that I'm most intrigued with and will likely be my hangup.
