meal vs wax??

does any body know the difference between them i know the size difference but i think i have heard of meal worms are not the ones to use is this true. cause i noticed at the mile trout had wax worms and he caught 6 a buddy and i were using meal worms and no fish any body else know of this??

I like to get the smaller meal worms for feeding reptiles at the petshop not only cheaper but they also seem to work better for me at least.
