I hit a local spot yesterday for a couple hours. I was hoping for a walleye or a bass but ended up with a bunch of small bows. They were all your typical-sized bow for this particular body of water-at least in my experience. Every once in a while I'll get a fatty but it didn't happen yesterday. I tried live fatheads and didn't get crap so I switched over to a jighead tipped with a little piece of meat and started ripping it. That and a little kasty worked well. I tried the hd ice, a blade bait and a couple others as well but the small jighead did best. It's nice being able to fish so close to home. Getting ready for that big fishing trip at that one spot three hours away is always a blast but it's fun to just hit one of the close spots on a whim every once in a while.

Nice Whomp! I got out yesterday on the local watering hole and only got two nibbles but had a great time with my little one.
