Fished a metro impoundment yesterday in search of pan fish for a New Years fish Fry, and instead, found this

Hit a Kasty/waxie, right as the fog was coming in. (we did not white out the spot
Was a lot of fun on an ultra lite!
Wasn't much ice were we were, most of the lake still open water.
No pan fish were harmed

Back when I was a kid in northern Minnesota, a friend was in a ice house spear fishing for northern, which was legal. A huge fish swan into view and he speared it. A nine pound large mouth bass! It would have been a state record on rod and reel...unfortunately it was never reported because it was illegal to spear a LMB. True story.
