Royal "Puddin" Weddingfeld isn't the only Arvada resident with a fish story.

For Arvada resident Adam Lamkin, it was a tough battle ? 45 minutes of pulling and fighting.

But in the end, Lamkin got his fish. And what a fish it was.

While fishing July 14 on the South Platte River near Henderson, Lamkin landed a carp that is the largest recorded in the state.

Guess I shoulda proofed the link before hitting the "post" button.

You have to put the word "carp" in the search field at the top right of their homepage to get to the story.

Weighting in at 42 pounds, measuring 39 and 1/8 inches long, Lamkin's common carp beats out the current common carp Colorado record of 35 pounds, 38.75 inches set by Adam Wickham in 2001 at Glenmere Park in Weld County.

Lamkin submitted the paper work with the Division of Wildlife to make his catch official and get in the record books.
