How did the 100+ fisherman do today on monument lake? Anyways, we faired alright caught the normal and landed a couple pike, lost another, caught a 28" catfish weighting 12+ lbs. My 6 year old kicked our butts out there. Catching both pike and the catfish.

Ok ok maybe it was only like 90 people. I don't have pictures of the crowd.

He caught the pike on minnies and the catfish jigging with a Swedish pimple. I guess taking a poo on the ice brings you luck catching big fish.

Your son did better that day than most do at that lake ever - especially with the big cat and pike are rare there.... CONGRATS!!

I wish they would stock pike again in monument. And some more bass. So many little sunfish and perch in that pond. I mostly caught little sunfish on poppers. But that place could grow some nice predators. My biggest fish out of there was a 20" rainbow. It chased down and killed a popper. Hit it three times before it got hooked. I thought it was a bass at first. Nice catch for the kid!
