I need to scratch the laker itch somewhere & soon. I'm thinking Forebay is the best bet for next week on my 140lb two man boat, with the extras carrried separately. Do you think my buddy & I will be able to carry it & launch with the obstacles (rocks)? I assume with he fluctuating water levels there won't be any ice, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks

I've carried a light weight Kevlar canoe into Forebay with a buddy and it was a PIA in the summer without any snow or ice to deal with. I'm sure its possible but it could be half hazardous if you don't take your time. Not sure about the ice conditions, it could be real dangerous if there is ice around the edges that that you have to walk on to get on and off of open water.

I agree with the previous post. Plus there are still ice chunks floating and they could block your exit when trying to get off. I would wait a bit before launching a boat.
