N & S Delaney Buttes Lakes

I fished North Delaney early Sun and caught 2 corpulent 21.5" browns on the east side of the lake from the shore. I used a floating line and black woolly bugger. I then went over to the East lake and caught about 20 12" to 14" rainbows on a bobber and fly out of a float tube. Best flies were #16 green Copper John and #18 red midge. The key seemed to be a long leader under the bobber - 15' in this case. Weather was great with a mild breeze. John

Depends on which way you go. The fastest way is I-70 to US 40 thru Granby, then Co 125 up to Walden. Trip takes about 2 and a half hours from Denver.

You can also take highway 14 from Fort Collins, but coming from Denver it will add an hour to your drive time

Careful on Hwy 125 as the cops like to work it with radar.
They also hang out just west of Granby on US 40, along that short stretch of 40  between the town and the turnoff to 125.
This is very true! I have almost been popped a couple of times in this spot. Funny though, I have never seen ANY cops on 125 all the way to Walden. Even on the long straight stretch from Rand on. I have seen some big ass meese there near the top of the pass.

I guess I should qualify that. There is ALWAYS a dummy cop in an International sitting next to the road in Rand. They even dress him up for Christmas, Halloween, etc. :D
