My friend sent me this picture.

The record is as-yet uncertified, pending final decision from Raleigh. The official weight, on certified scales, was 20 pounds, one ounce. Length is 34 inches, not sure of girth.

She caught it on a Rapala on 8 or 10-pound test. The rod used is in the picture.

Don't know if it's true or not but WOW.

I really like using ultralight gear to make everything seem bigger. I can't imagine what it felt light pulling that thing in. Good thing she used a little heavier line! By the way, I live in NC for nearly a decade and I didn't even know they had trout.

Haha All I ever fished for when I lived there was Bass, huge Crappie, and Flat heads. :p Had I known there were trout like that there.
