Lake looks as sad as I've ever seen it (roughly 2/3 the size of Union). Water seems quite stirred up. I had to wade out 80 yards just to get into like barely 3 ft of water for casting my bait out. Got there round 6pm. The bro-in law & kids along with my lady dunked some crawfish, nightcrawlers and even mussels from shore and played the waiting game while I took the belly boat out on the SW part of the lake... More like I just laid on top of the doughnut and used my arms for paddling. Caught a whitebass on a half a sluggo w/EWG hook way out there in "5 1/2 ft" of water. Did this because they seemed to be gulping stuff off the surface sporadically around me.

Got back just before dark to dig into some munchies.. As soon as it got pitch dark round 21:30 my lady got the 1st hit. Rod nearly flew in. She reels in a 20 inch wiper. Not bad... A couple missed hits later she gets a carp..

Her bros about 100 yds down the shoreline had a similar bite at the same time, but just a couple of wipers ranging from 18" to 22"..... And a carp too.. Go figure! Well, that was all she wrote. We left around 02:00 in the morning due to discouragement.

This lake is not worth going to if you're planning for a grand slam trip. Honestly, you're better off dragging a small boat out there and paying the boat ramp fee at Nee Granda. If you've got an easy to launch john boat, then I'll recommend trying deeper waters at NeeNoshe, but other than that, it's a gamble. Oh and BTW, they want GOLD for the gas in Eads.

Dude, it was like $2.25 for regular unleaded.. We were in one of my fam member's Toyo Tundra which took premium. It was like sumthin over $2.50.. However, the lady in the liquor store that was sellin crawlers to us said that Nee Gronda is doing ok on wipers for folks with launchable craft. Supposedly, hey're hittin way out in like 20 ft of water. I'm willing to bet by now, it has probably slowed a little because the hype about NeeNoshe was already like a week or two ago.

2.19 for regular unleaded here...believe me I know I'm just about to get my license...1 more month. (its sad...I'll almost be 17 by then :p, damn new law!)

But enough about the gas prices. That is definitely a disappointment that lake is so low, I heard it used to be awesome fishing!

WERD.. It USED to be awesome fishing. My longest (can't say heaviest) wiper I've ever caught to date was from Nee Noshe.. 28 inches, but thin. This was like only my 4th or 5th time there. Back then when we went, we weren't fortunate enough to run into the non-stop action that locals and friends always report, but catching wipers averaging 5 lbs and up was not even an issue. Along with Blue Lake, Meredith and John Martin, Nee Noshe, a victim of drought, will be another one of those lakes that'll take years to heal. I miss every one of them..

A quote from one of my favorite Hip Hop Artists, Slug of Atmosphere:

some desire and initiative

take your time to find the right way to climb

Yes indeed... That's my "driving" music. Once I'm there, I rock to birds chirping, fish splashing and drags singing..  8)
