Hello everyone i recently just became a new boat owner. i rcvd a pass down boat from my cousin and the steering cable is broken i dont know how to replace it but i did call a boat shop and they said it would be between $300 and $400. can anyone help me out and possible let me know if this is about correct. also if anyone can give me a good place to take my boat or info on how to fix a steering cable it would be apperciated.

do you know what kind of steering it has on it (Rack and pinion). It shouldn't be that hard if you can get it out easily find out the manufacture and go on line and buy a replacement and thread it back from were you pulled the old one out. it looks like there around 200 for the whole thing.
