Coming to Colorado for 2 weeks. We are fishing down in Durango for 3 days. Doing the Gunnison 3 day float and we have 1 more day to fish. We will be in Glenwood springs. Should we do the Colorado River or the roaring fork.
thank you

lots of people on the fork might not be too bad if its a week day but if you dont want to mess with the crowds I would think the colorado would be the better choice.theres other smaller streams in the area that would offer solitude just remember its bear season be safe

The entire SW is in a drought and the fishing around Durango is tough on the small rivers. Best bet in the 4 corners area would be the Quality Water of the San Juan. You can tie up w/ Duranglers as a guide or go it alone. Located below a Navajo Dam it’s world renown for fighting bows and browns, Can’t keep any though. Requires a NM license. Both Vallecito and Lemon lake offer cast able shore fishing and great scenery. For a quick, close fish hit Pastoriuos Res. early in the day. I’m in Maine on strippers now, but released 6 bows from Pastorious last Sunday.
