Get out the yellow pages and locate the pawn shops in your area.

I wanted one of those little micro sized refrigerators to keep my night crawlers in, checked out the pawn shops and found just what I wanted for only $17.00, it runs great and keeps the crawlers happy.

While I was going through pawn shops, I found a whole bunch of used trolling motors of different sizes for far less than new ones cost. Usually at about 1/5 of new price. I wasn't in the market for one at the time or I sure would have grabbed one.

Plenty of other outdoor sports stuff as well -- guns, snow sports, etc.
