My son had an early dentisi appt, so after that I let him play hookey with me, and we headed to North Catamount. It was cold, but hardly anyone there, we had the whole shoreline to ourselves. We used smaller tubes and killed them. We caught Rainbows, Cutbows (one went 17" and fat), and tons of lakers. The last two lakers I caught were dark with bright orange fins, and fought like hell. They were only 18"-19" but were pretty thick across the back and fought better than any of the previous lakers I had caught. Found more evidence of people bait fishing. If I can say one thing about this lake it is consistant!!!

I got some 2lb test diameter fireline, 1oz jig heads, and an 8'6" lamiglas kenai special. I can cast way the hell out there with this set-up, hopefully far enough to reach the lakers when they go deep. It works at Rampart, so hopefully it will work there too. I am still hoping for a 5+ out of N Catamount before they go deep. You were right about the smaller tubes, they kicked a$$!!!!!
