Slow was the word. I blame that on clear ice, no snow cover, and coming off a full moon. Oh yeah no wind either-

3F when we got there.

Got 2 bows. 1-19" and 1-18" lost 2 same size. Coffee joe missed 1 same size.We had a total of 15 hits or so. We fished Suckers. More guys at Cross creek , 1 dude said he got 11, but we were next to them all day and only saw them land 1. Funny how that works.

Some dudes were hootin and hollerin at Cross Creek, you could hear everything they said or did. from a 1/2 mile away.

We started out to right of suckers but not much action and later on a big area opened up.

I was feeding peanut butter crackers to the crows. They would get to about 10ft.

Then I threw some guts on the ice and the bald eagles came muscling in quickly.

Im trying to load a video from photobucket , it works, but leaves my entire account open to public. What is wrong?

12/14 was Sunday and there was 10" of snow on the lake! You were there on Saturday, 12/13.

The 10" of snow made it tough footing. The ice seemed to have sagged a bit under the snow load as water came pouring out of each hole. Slushy buildup on my Stabilicers and slipped a lot going out from Stoll, only about 150 yards.

We got there at 12:30 on Sunday and there were maybe six other parties scattered around the lake. We managed five fish between my buddy and myself (four 17-18" trout, one 22" pike). The snow cover must have helped the bite based on what I read here. Nothing on deadsticks, all came jigging kastys and a perch Chubby Darter.

5" of ice around Stoll with two pressure ridges. We stayed away from the ridges with that much snow on the lake - couldn't see what was going on and it was too hard of a walk anyway. It worked out.

Did alright there last weekend. Caught 8, lost 4 at the hole. Prolly could have got those 4 in, but I had no patience for those stikin' 16-17" fish. Nothing of size. This one got chewed up by a pike:

I need some ice in the plains...
