Hey guys, wanted to share an awesme customer service experience today. I was going to go head to BPS and pick up a charger for my flasher today, but had only a short window of time.
Radio Shack here by the house had nothing and WalMart had nothing I trusted. Last chance effort, I stopped in at O'Reillys Auto Parts on south Federal to see.if they had the proper charger. Turns out they DID have just the right one. Volts, amps, everything was just right. Problem was, it was $50. Significantly more than the BPS one and more.than I had to.spend. I told the guy thank you and turned to leave.
The guy could have let me leave, but instead he said "Hang on a minute."
Apparently they have a battery charging service there, but didn't have a setup for the small 12V I had. He went into the back, looked through a couple drawers and found an adapter foe his charger strip that would do a slow trickle, regulated charge at .5 Amps per hour.
I left my flasher in the case with the battery and he charged it for me for 8 hours... gave me a little over 75% charge. Dude said since it wasn't a car battery, he had no way to charge me, so he said "Consider it a service and tell your friends"...
Ill be shopping O'Reilly from now on for auto parts. Good business practice on his part.
