I braved the wind and fished Parvin Lake Sat AM. It wasn't the usual early ice hot action but did manage to land a 16" rainbow and a 18" brown. Broke another fish off due to my heavy-handedness. Went to Dowdy around noon and caught pretty much one fish after another - mostly 10 to 13". My best depth was 6'. I was by the point just past the dam. It took me about 15 minutes to get the 2nd rod in because I got immediate hits. Everything was on 2" tube jigs - motor oil color. John

The ice was about 5" at Dowdy. Indeed, there was open water about 100 yds away. Ice at Parvin was slightly thinner at about 4-5". I'm going to guess that the ice thickness will gain .5 to 1.0 inches per day based on how cold it is. John
