I took the plunge and bought Patagonia Foot tractor boots . Pricey even with 20% off. I tested them on the Blue River and White River ( slipperiest rivers i know). They were amazing! I felt so secure and safe! A game changer for sure! Good bye felt, hello Pats F T!

They have metal on the bottom, don't they? I've wondered if they wouldn't make a noise on the rocks and impact a person's "sneakiness".

These are THE BEST boots ever!!!! I have had Simms, Korkers (sp?), etc., and I LOVE my Patagonia Foot tractors. And, no, they don't make "noise". But, yes, they provide real traction.

Put those same aluminum bars on any boot, and they'll work.

Any kind of bar/spike will be noisier than not using them.
