I think you might be able to net him before he got away? Or the guy with the camera had the net
Fisherman: "I caught a big ol' pike n there yesterday!"

Bartender: "On what ?"

Fisherman: "A lil one"

Bartender: "Lil what?"

Fisherman: "pike"

Bartender: "I know you caught a pike, but on what kind of lure?"

Fisherman: "Oh, I was using some kind of spinner"

Bartender: "Oh, a lil spinner?"

Fisherman: "No, spinner's not too dern small, but a lil pike"

Bartender: "Thought you said you caught a big one"

Fisherman: "I certainly did"

Bartender: "You sure you want another drink?"

out at the arsenal that happens almost every time you catch a small pike, there are always other fish swimming around when you catch one. most of the smaller ones usually have bites taken out of them.
when I was a kid, my family was on vacation in northern minnesota, My brother was about 7 or 8 at the time and was fishing for bluegill with a bobber, worm, and cheap little kids Zebco rig and as he was reeling a bluegill in a huge pike gulped it just like the picture. My dad helped him out and managed to get it in and the only reason the big pike was landed was because the bluegill got stuck sideways in it's mouth and it couldn't spit it out. We released the pike but I think the bluegill was pretty trashed after that one.

Now why are they so damn picky in CO. They seldom take fish longer than 1/3 longer than their body. Trout and bass take larger fish more often than pike actually.
Sometimes you have to use some big baits. But that's crazy.
