Its pretty simple! Bring 7-Up to a rolling boil in a pot. Drop 1-1.5" cubed pike fillets in, boil for 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain. Dip in melted butter and enjoy.

Just going by what a few others go by...everybody's taste buds are different...I mean we have Julia Childs deep frying greasy laker fillets...might as well freeze and deep fry Crisco chunks...

I use Halibut in my poor mans lobster, one of my favorites... Z, looks like my smoked Lake trout rates right up with smoked Salmon and has more Omega3s. Someday you'll see the light.

Steve I will admit that I havent tried them smoked...that would prolly make them edible as it does with many marginal cuts of other thing...

I am going to get a smoker at some point and dial in a honey smoked slimer that will make all of our stocker lakes worth the trip.

To each his own. I can't catch a 20 pound trout so why kill a species that can attain that size. They can raise plenty of trout.

I tried it today with pike. Pretty good, but tomorrow I think I'm going to soak the pike in it for about an hour then fry it up.
