When and where is the best open water pike fishing in Colorado in your opinion?

How is the best way you've found to catch them?

Hi Eric. I go to Minnesota every year to fish for Northerns. By far, my favorite way to hunt these guys is trolling a 3/8 to 1 oz. spinnerbait, about 2.5 mph. I generally get into 15-20 feet of water and usually just on the edge of the first drop off. I used to use spoons quite a bit, Daredevils, Red Eye, and even old faithful (as my Dad would call it)...the Johnson weedless silver minnow!

I haven't been out pike fishing here but I've been told that you can crush them at Spinney.

Trout unlimited probably supported the pike and bass removal but it was DOW that removed them to restore or attempt to save the pike minow and sqaw fish, Also removing above species and catfish out of the lower colorado.
