Popular Fishing Derby Resumes At Miramonte Lake
The Sunshine Express Mother's Day event heralds rebirth of prolific fishery

Norwood, CO, 4/10/15: Miramonte Lake, in the Dan Noble State Wildlife Area, approximately 20 minutes south of Norwood, Colorado, will be the place to be for Mother's Day, with a chance to win $500 and many other prizes while enjoying a fun day in the sun during The Sunshine Express Miramonte Fishing Derby.
Resuming Sunday, 6a-5p, May 10, 2015, after taking a year off while the fishery was restored by the state, the highly popular Mother's Day derby, which draws participants from 4 states, has become a much anticipated event.
"With some of the state's best fishing in one of it's most beautiful and wildlife rich locations right at the base of Lone Cone Mountain, Miramonte Lake is easy to fall in love with," said KingDaddy, Sunshine Express editor, co-publisher and event organizer, "and we think it's the perfect place for a beautiful Mother's Day gathering, bringing together friends and family for sun, fun and great prizes, all wrapped up in a great day of fishing!"
"We want to say thank you," added KingDaddy, "to the CPW for making the event possible and to our sponsors, Timberline Ace Hardware now open in Norwood, The Country Lodge in Montrose, and Acme Healing Center's 'Lock it up' campaign, as well as all of the fine area merchants who donated all of the prizes to be given away, for helping us to make this a special event not to be missed."
Over $1000 in prizes from western slope businesses are up for grabs in addition to the top prize of $500 for the person who weighs in the longest trout. Only *one* trout per participant may be weighed in this year. All participants must possess a valid Colorado fishing license and abide by all laws governing fishing in the state.
Entry into the derby is only $10 for any age. Everyone is invited to join in this family fun event. Entry forms will be available at the lake the day of the derby or get them now online as well as the poster, directions/map, conditions, tips and more at: www.westernslopenews.com/events.htm
