KIrbydog told me how to catch fish, caught two 12-13 inch Smallmouth this AM.
Fish were in 50-55 feet of water off major drop offs next to shore, little pockets of fish.
Caught both fish on silver/blue Rapala Shad jig.
Started around 7:30, caught first fish just before 9.
Bites for me were real dainty.
Was getting pretty cool and tried to troll for Trout no luck.
Water level is increasing.  Lots of floating wood on the lake.

That Rapala jig is one great lure for deep water jigging-that and a Kastmaster is about all I tie on in the winter down there. Way to go.

It was 17' degrees, I was fishing with two rods out of a canoe.
I don't get any more aggressive then that.
I'd say I was sorta teaching the fish to follow the lure.
There are several rocks that felt my aggression.

I took my ugly red boat down to Pueblo and caught some rainbows trolling rapalas along the north east shore line on Jan 4th and 5th.

The small one was about 16 in. and the big fat one was about 20 to 21 in.

that top bow is a nice fish! Looks like pueblo is already producing more than last year.
