Slept in and started canoe fishing the North East cove at 10 AM. Temp was about 38'
Tried my lead core line with a small Dodger with varous spoons or Rapalas. No luck.
Other rod had a combination of small lures on 4 lbs line. No luck.
The lures that worked for Trout last year didn't work.
Didn't mark many fish between Shiprock and the Dam.
Had a good hit from a old T-shirt that put up a fair fight in 50 feet of water.
Perhaps wind on the 29th moved the fish or I just overslept.
Was a nice day and did see one Bald Eagle.

Earplug-Trout are shallow and you can catch them alot of different ways but for warmwater species verticaL jigging spoons in 35-60 ft.right on the boittom  is  best way to go-for me at least.  Areas where the river  channel swings in close to shore and any bluff walls that drop off quickly to deep water have always been the best spots for me.
