Another good day on the water. Slow in the early AM then the wind picked up about 9:30 and the fishing really turned on. Caught smallies on senkos and cranks and three wipers on cranks-two at 24" and one at 26". A couple of the smallies were good sized-not 15" but real close.

Water temp was 71-down a little from last week. There are dead shad all over the North Marina boat ramp-either the wind or the wipers pushed them up on the concrete.

I fished a deep baby N Norman crank-tried a mid N which is a little bigger but they just didn't want it. That baby N is a closer match to the shad.

Whenever I go to Pueblo for cats I usually do pretty good. I fish until it gets hot, switch one cat pole for a bass rod, and go after bass and wipers.

I went past quite a few guys fishing from the shore on the south side down near the dam-I heard one guy say the wipers were biting early 'til about 8 then stopped. But I just fished a few points then went down the lake.

The guy at the North Marina store said somebody brought in a 30+ lb. cat a few weeks back-just shy of the CO record (its about 33 lbs, right?). Thats my buddy who fishes with cheddar/bacon chiz whiz. ;D Hey he swears by it.
