Pueblo Fishing is dead this time of year.  We only hooked into 6 wipers last night -- landed 3 lost one and had 2 snap the line. We also managed 2 undersized walleyes.
Didn't get the weight of the fish - but the bigger one had a 21 pound walleye in its stomach....

We were on dkooser's boat. Its his fishing method and I will not share it until he says that it is OK. I would hit him up and email him constantly until he breaks down and starts sobbing like a little girl.  Or just wait until he gives a reply to this post ;D
thanks again dkooser for taking us out.
Their heads and tree leaves are blacked out...I think it is WiperGuy!!!

Nice fish "guys"!

How long are they?...did you get a weight on them or is that classified too?

And I dont blame you for keeping it under your hat...there are some things that should just be earned...

<meanwhile looking up dkoosers private message address so I can begin sobbing like a little girl!!!>

I am going to go practice in the mirror!

LOL -- the biggest only weighed about 10 lbs according to my $1.99 fish scale from wally world. your guess is as good as mine on the length- forgot to meausre them.

"This method" does take a boat and only targets the bigger wiper, so much that a smaller wiper would turn tail and run from "this method". I've been using "this method" for about 7 years and have personally told only one other person. His biggest catch was a 28 inch walleye using "this method". So I guess "this method" targets big fish in general. You might not get many bites but when you do, hold onto the rod.

Moderators, Mauser and Chris excluded, I'll take the first person who posts what "this method" is below my post on a free fishing outing to Pueblo where we will use "this method". All you have to do is guess (or do a bit of research) on what "this method" is and show up to the ramp.....I'll take care of the remainder.

Pending my availability on weekends and the winners availability, we will get the trip in before mid October.

This offer is non refundable, has no real cash value and cannot be exchanged for any other prizes nor secrets. Winner agrees to not hold me liable for any damages (personal or otherwise) and also agrees to not be late to the ramp. Winner agrees to not mind if I partake in a bit of Copenhagen and/or (actually AND) pass a bit of gas every now and then. Winner can practice catch and release or can club and kill every legal sized fish we catch...your call. Lastly, I am not affiliated with this web site in any way shape or fashion and the winner cannot hold Dan and whats-his-name liable for much of anything. So who wants to guess??????

Im guessing your pulling really big cranks or using really big bait?(Bull gills or perch)

No matter what it is it seems to wotk well. Nice post

I'm guessing you use a big shad (or other fish but shad seem to work best) in the 6 to10 inch range and either fish them under a balloon or on the bottom. If this is wrong try it sometime, it works down south.
If I can throw out another guess... you wait until they stock and then that night you go throw big lures that look like whatever they just stocked...
I will, I am going to guess a large drop shot rig with a good sized large bait.  The drop shot rig will allow you to target specific depth and size of fish based on the size and species of bait used.

I can't remember what we used -- was it a marshmallow on a size 22 hook? no thats not it. it was a small toy poodle with a french cut on a 3/0 hook
I'm guessing you trolled some rainbow trout lookalikes, at about the 12in clip, in some of the deeper points on the lake.
You tossed a very large cast net and pulled them monsters in. LOL nice catch man.
Mabe you used a 21# live walleye rigged with hooks?  ;D
Nice fish, those will be a dime a dozen as soon as the baby shad start showing themselves! Can you guys say how late it was? I never do well during this moon phase.

you nailed it -- we were out of stocker trout

I believe that daytime is better despite the black out pic.

Mauser is kinda funny about puttin' his mug on the net.....ya know......ex-wives's's's's's's and such.  He is real good at hiding tips about who he really is and what time of day he catches fish.

well when you look like brad pitt -- such as I do. you try to keep the fans from mauling you

Those are real nice fish. The wiper fishing will just get better and better (for me at least) as we get into late summer and fall. By mid Oct I'll start throwing a chartreuse/white tandem or double willow spinnerbait in the early morning. The hits are like a freight train. Last fall the wiper fishing was excellent from first light until about 9 am. Best I've had in many years here. Ed
