Went to Pueblo on Wednesday and killed a few hours waiting for a friend by drowning worms and catching a mess o' bluegills. After a squall went through the lake settled down and we started tossing jerkbaits for the wiper which were chasing the shad. Big schools are starting to form.
I ended up with a limit of gills, 9 bass, 9 walleye and only one wiper. Only kept the gills - which was my intent. The water was 77 degrees everywhere I went and I got a nice surprise: a 27", 7 lb 2 oz walleye. She was a horse and had some serious shoulders. Yes, she's still swimming.
Can't wait for cooler nights to drop that water temperature!
