we hit it this weekend and snagged a 6 lb 24 inch walleye that was floating upside down, we thought it was dead until we had a casting contest and i snagged him and he was still breathing a little bit, very fat but dying for some reason don't know if somweone else caught it and had a bad release or it got hit by a boat or if it was sick. big fish though and full of shad. we didnt keep it and someone else came along and grabbed it and kept it. we caught a 17.9999 incher in the 3rd cove from the dam on south side, big fish was in the first cove west of the south boat ramp. caught a bunch of small bass (largemouth and smallies) throwing medium cranks along the points on the south side. caught one walleye trolling shallow cranks . tried bottom bouncing in all coves on south side and a few on north side just caught some dinky perch. saw some dead shad floating on surface, their only about 1 1/2 inches long. we shoed water temp at 70 degrees on dam side of lake and went to other end and water was up to 73 degrees in shallow spots, didnt catch anything on the shallow west side. saw no good wipers caught only saw some dinks caught by shor bait dunkers. thought with the foggy weather on sun that it might've helped but we only caught one small bass throwing cranks again. pretty calm all weekend though not much wind. quite a bit of boat traffic though. only tried bottom bouncing with worms as everyone is out of leeches, saw lots of fish on the fish finders so maybe they wanted something other than what we were throwing..
