As many of you guys know, pyramid lake, Nevada is a world class cutthroat trout fishery. The largest cutthroat trout in the world reside in northern Nevada of all places. I have been to pyramid twice...both times were amazing. I have been wanting to go back recently and the date is finally official. I wanted to go earlier by school and stuff have prevented me from going. I’ll be driving out 4/14. The exact date might be one day off, give or take....but I will be there that week. If anyone wants to find some killer cutties, holler. Whether you flyfish, spinfish, swimbait fish...it doesn’t matter. You can catch them on anything and they GET BIG!!! 20lb cutthroat trout are not uncommon! CANT WAIT CANT WAIT!!!

Home sweet home for me... CAN you catch them on anything? Technically, yes... will you? They can be quite finicky.

Also, if you have access to a boat/guide, Sacramento Perch make for a quick, easy, and delicious dinner catch after a great morning of fishing for 'cutties. Also, don't overlook fly fishing the Truckee River west of Reno as you're starting to get into the mountains.

I had to leave a small window open for my arrival because I was waiting to hear back from someone else on details....but 4/14, it is. Gonna get up nice and early that Saturday and make the drive.
