Fishers...

I live near a popular creek about 8 miles from the foothills along the I-25 corridor. The trout fishing is good in late fall, winter, spring but then the water warms significantly (up to 70 + degrees) and the trout are nowhere to be found. Sometimes I look in a pool and/or fish and there are just no trout.

Does this mean they swim for several miles or more upstream and enjoy the oxygen-rich colder water near the foothills and then return downstream when water cools? This might apply to a creek like the St. Vrain or Big Thompson, where they flow towards I-25.
