Hey everyone.

Finally Quincy reservoir is open for the season. I missed my alarm clock so my friend and I didn't get out there until around 9:00 A.M and the place was already packed. However, we rented a boat and I rowed (since I don't have a trolling motor :() all the way across the lake to the island. I was using a medium sized Blue Fox spinner with a pink and blue pattern reeling slowly and steadily. I was reeling by a submerged bunch of branches on the back side of the island and caught a nice 18 inch rainbow with beautiful color patterns. I then caught two more using the same technique as we circled around the cove by the island. My friend was using a medium sized silver Blue Fox and caught a nice 17 inch rainbow about ten feet off the rocks along the dam reeeling slowly and jigging occasionally. He then caught another beauty on a 3/4 oz. Kastmaster with a plain silver pattern casting toward the dam and retrieving steadily. WE let them all go of course so they will be there for the res of you who want them. The time was about 10:00 A.M. and the sun was bright. The water was absolutely glass. If anyone has an old trolling motor they feel like giving me out of pity feel free. ;D

Good luck everyone, I'm sure I'll see you out there even if I don't knnow you.

My buddy went out there this morning for about an hour and a half. Said he fished off the dam and caught 5 trout, 1 largemouth, and 1 perch. He also said the bass was 17 inches and he kept one trout that was 24 inches and weighed in at a tad over 3 pounds.

I'm hoping to get out there for the first time this year Tuesday morning.

Wow Cope, your bud had a good day. I didn't really try for bass that much because I think the water is still a bit chilly.

Mustang, the deal is, he wasn't fishing for bass. We use an olive wooly bugger out there for trout and usually get a lot of bass off it too.

Trick is to fish the wooly bugger about 6 feet below one of those clear water filled bobbers, and that usually does the trick for the trout.
