Took the day off and hit rampart reservoir today. I caught several rainbows and cutthroats but all were in the 10 - 13 inch range (one guy there said it was just stocked) . Used mainly green PB. Caught one on a small husky jerk and nothing on kastmasters or bouyants. I was hoping to hook into some lakers, but to no avail.

take hwy 24 west from Colo. Spgs to Woodland Prk. I'm not sure on the name of the street you turn on when you get into Woodlnd Prk, but when you come to the McDonalds on the right side of the road, you turn there and follow it about 2-3 miles. You'll come to sign that tells you where to go from there.

Don't forget the camera-beautiful place. My kids love climbing all the rock formations around the lake. Keeps um busy while your fishing..

The road is in pretty good shape from Woodland Park to the lake, from CS to the lake up from Garden of the Gods I wouldn't try it. I made this trip many years ago in my old truck-it was never the same. Ed :(

I actually took rampart road home when I went the other day -- the road is in pretty good condition these days -- still a little rough -- I drove the mini van and had no problems. the idiot drivers on the road are another issue. I also hit rampart again today -- in the boat this time -- will post a report later.
