Fishbrain ruins everything...if you want to see overcrowded bodies of water, look no further that where people are posting about on fishbrain... I used to fish these pristine bass /crappie ponds near me that never used to get alot of pressure, but then this one guy started posting fishbrain pics every day... then more people on the app started posting... now it is tough to even find a place to park.

Ok ...rant over. Tight lines everyone!

It's the future of fishing... Evolve or... Seriously, it's the future of fishing. We can all cry about the "good old days". Even tough most of us probably don't know what the good old days are...

Social media is a part of the fishing culture, no doubt. I just meant that Fishbrain the app and its users are a joke.

You know, I downloaded the app last winter... :embarassed: But didn't really used it. My old phone crapped and I haven't downloaded it on my new phone yet. I am not in a rush to download and use it, but I wouldn't rule it out. ;D I understand it's a two edged sword: You see where people are and they see where you are (but I could be wrong).

There were days when I was seriously lurking and trying to find new spots. I certainly don't know every fishing spot in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas, but I am not that interested in new spots these days. I don't fish smaller bodies of water much. I think most people who have fished in Colorado somewhat avidly for a decade or more probably has their own spots and habits. Most people who are actively looking to find new spots are probably relatively new to fishing: younger people, or older people who are getting into the sport. From what I see on social media, those people eventually figure out that hotspotting ain't worth it.

Fair point, but to me the good old days were simply a few years ago when I was not fighting for a parking spot when wanting to make a quick stop before heading home.

I would feel less salty about if if I saw less trash on the banks. Seriously fisherman who just dump their **** anywhere and leave it are a disgrace.

I live by McIntosh lake. The fishery is not amazing, neither is it bad... but if I find whoever keeps leaving empty bags of mussels out... I am going to shove that plastic right back up where the sun don't shine.

I came across some guys and kids fishing a nature reserve lake that has “no fishing” signs posted all around it. I informed them that they weren’t supposed to be fishing there and it was posted. The guy replied that “fish brain” said it was legal to fish there. I replied good luck explaining that to the police when they ticket you. The users are definitely thick headed and arrogant IMO.

Sad thing is those cops probably don't care because they have bigger problems. I called operation game thief on these dudes that had 5 cooler bags at the dream stream keeping every single kokanee they caught, I stayed 2 hours after calling operation game thieft and no one showed up. :(
