Is there any place in the Denver Metro or even front range area that repairs and cleans baitcast reels? I've got an older Quantum Energy that locked up and I'd like to see if it can be repaired. I use to use Uncle Milty's (sp) but the seem to have closed up years ago....

How often should a reel be taken in to clean? About what does it cost for a cleaning and lube?

Just wondering.... Last year was the 1st year i purchased some descent reels! :) previously I would just buy Walmart combo's and when the reel went bad I threw it away and bought another one. LMAO

Now that I own a couple Pfluegers that i really really like!! I was wondering how to correctly maintain them.

Hope this isnt to far off topic for this thread :)

Thanks Guys, Just talked to Gary. I'm going to drop it of to him at SW on Saturday. I'll cross my fingers that it can be repaired....

As far as RVinson's question, here is my 2cents. I have my reels that I use a lot cleaned once a year. I just sent 7 of them off to have cleaned and super tuned. I guess some it depends on how often you use them and where they are stored. If you keep them in the corner of a dusty garage they will probably need it more often than ones kept in covered in a clean area.

I fish one or two times a week from March into December and I clean them twice a year(before spring and late summer). Its really nice to have a good working baitcasters.
