I've got a cheapo 5 ft little featherlight Berkley rod. The tip top guide has some grooves in it from wipers. I know this could be bad for my line and I want to replace the tip top guide.

Can somebody help me with a "how to" and maybe with an idea of what kinds of tip top guides to use?

Thanks in Advance

1eyered, you can get a tip top most anywhere. I think they even have them at K-Mart. Use a match or lighter to heat the existing tip top, not too long, then twist off using a pair of pliers. More often than not, there is enough glue residue to fasten the new top. Just heat the new tip top up, while holding w/ pliers, then pass the match/lighter over the glue residue quickly a couple of times, then press the new top onto the end of the rod. Cabelas has a "Tackle Shop" catalog you can request that has all kinds of rod making/repairing material in it.
