I'm planning to take my 6 year old son to Ruedi reservoir at the end of June. We will be in float tubes.

Has anyone been there and fished it from a belly boat? Is it manageable without a hulled boat?

We're planning on casting Panther Martins and rooster tails primarily. Anything else you guys would recommend? What about dry flies on a bubble?

Thanks in advance!

Its been a while since I have been there but here is what I would do.

A nice safe area would be at the inlet. It place has a ton of fish and not much boat traffic. So a float tube could be quite productive. In that area you could use anything you want ... drag worms, chuck metal (I would vote for lil cleos and tasmanian devils) fly and bubble... you will run into stockers of course, cut bows, brookies, yellow perch and possible a koke.
The lakers will be in deep water on the other side of the rez. While you could spend your time there I would rather spend my time playing on the other end and away from the boats with the big motors.

Just my 2 cents
