ok im writing this    and showing these pics so    people can see
how bad it is down this way   but just so you know all these bodys of water were over flowing 7 years ago

dont let the blue fool you its only about 2 inches deep in that last pic

thats my car on the top of that boat ramp if you can see it

now this is the view the other way

see wth water line thats where it use to be at j-martin

all that was under water          all the way to the rocks

where i am standing in this pic is where water use to splash

i just want to show people that we dont have that much water this way
and if you do catch any fish this way keep them
the water is going to dry up and they will die any way
well all the water will not dry up j-martin will never dry up but
that water goes down the river into fields and into kansas
so catch and enjoy the fish     ;D        ;D

I talked to a DOW guy about the Great Plains lakes, he said that they were owned by some company, who had water storage rights on John martin as well. So it was cheaper for them to use the water they are allowed from John Martian unstead of filling up the other lakes.
Its sad.

i hope if you take stringers of fish home you show us the pics

this is for the guys that will say catch and release those fish
this way they will see its not worth putting them back were not getting any water soon

so may be they will just look at the pics coming from this area and say wow nice fish and leave it at that

It is sad to see those lakes like that. I'm new here and have heard of the the droughts in the past but did not realize it had reduced water levels that much.

Several years ago we used to fish those inter-connecting canals between the lakes and catch all manner of species.   Hey,Nee Grande and Nee Noshe still have lots of fishing/boating.

out of curiosity, have they upped the limit out of any of those lakes to try and utilize the fish?

Its quite a drive for me, but I would love to get down there.

Actually the [email protected]@ns at DOW lowered the limits! 15" minimum on wallys, only 1 over 21". Stupid, stupid, stupid. Like I'm gonna throw 'em back so they can die in the mud? Hah!

it wasnt dow it was the big walleyes group i will not say there name because they do a lot of good but they dont know as much as they think they do

they thought it was for the best to come this way and fight at every meeting this way to get the walleye limits changed
but like i said they were the only ones at the meeting down this way
so dow had to listen to them

most of all the dow this way didnt want this new walleye limit

If the water gets to low, the DOW will announce an emergency fish salvage, where they will remove the limits on the lake. It happens all the time, lets just hope it doesnt happen here. (If I'm not mistaken it happened on Nee So Pah Reservoir last year)

on the fish salvage
you still have a limit
but you can take the fish how ever you want
hands, net

and yes lower queens did it last year but you have to realize
its the bottom of a lake so well if you try to walk out your ok for a
few feet but after that you sink some times all the way to your gut
kinda hard to walk a net around when your sinking that deep

and last year i didnt see anyone even try to do it that way

and yes slayerfish they knuckled under because we keep saying they work for us well guess what they do and who ever shows up to these meeting and i do mean every meeting thats who the dow was seeing at every meeting and well thats who they heard

Yeah it's called democracy or somethin-Still,doesnt the DOW realize the fish will die anyway and to just use some common sense?
