I am tying up a bunch of San Juan Worms for the trip Saturday and am having a heck of a time debarbing these hooks. Does anyone have any tips of how to do this? I am using a Mustad 80200 and a Dai-Riki 135 in size 18 and 20. The fishies and I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks
Jim

id tie them bigger..like a 14 or 16. usually the worm stays the same size anyways, so you might as well use a bigger hook....easier to work with and get out of fish...

either way, big or small i use a pair of hemostats (flat faced) to pinch down my barbs...if you dont have any...well needle nosed pliers might work---but if you are gonna fish small flies you better get some hemos! ;)

i like a Tiemco #2457 scud hooks....2x heavy, they are strong and last a long time.
